Behavior ExpectationsI expect every student to work toward being a successful college student. Regardless of ability, No excuse I Believe EVERY STUDENT is intelligent in some important area of education!!!
Students who lack capability in some areas will use the areas they are strong to get better in all areas of academics.SOME have to work harder to achieve the same result.. THAT IS OK!!! EVERY STUDENT HAS A DESIRE TO SUCCEED!
It is my responsibility as a teacher to bring out the best in every student. I need you the student to participate, the parents to support, and the school to provide the environment for success.
-- Martin Luther King Jr Early College has proven it can provide the environment with a near 100% high school graduation rate. If you go to MLK for high school you will graduate!!!
-- It is every parents dream for their child to be successful in school and advance to college parents will support my goal for college student preparation -- As a student of Mr. Polk you will agree to follow the rules your parents have set for you, your school has set, and I have set for behavior and achievement in my classroom This contract means that the student will not interrupt the learning environment by talking to their friends during class about anything other than science. Each student will help other students by sharing their great ideas with the class or writing them down. When talking in groups we will use six inch voices Students will follow all classroom procedures Students will know all classroom expectation and follow them. Mr. Polk does not give give grades. Students earn grades by doing the work they are suppose to do and in the manor that is expected. Complete sentences in writing, complete assignments and asking questions when students are not understanding. Study and prepare for all tests. Students will not leave their seats without permission. Homework assignments will be completed on time. Treat all fellow students with the same kindness that you would expect them to treat you with. That means we DO NOT tell other students to Shut up, Use the terms gay or Nigga while in class.We do not laugh at other students while they are reading or giving an answer.If a student does not follow these clear directions they will practice after school for 90 minutes AND or on Saturday morning at 8:00am for 90 minutes.
